Fuck-it-we-ball mentality is basically the willingness to act before fear talks you out of it.
A lot of people aren't actually afraid of failure. They're afraid of what failure will look like to other people. What if I embarrass myself? What if they think I'm stupid? What if they laugh at me?
Fuck it. Let them.
Fuck-it-we-ball doesn't mean everything you do is going to work. You're going to fail sometimes. You're going to look stupid sometimes. You might embarrass yourself, get rejected, lose money, make the wrong decision, or have people make fun of you.
The mentality is: I can handle that.
You have enough confidence in yourself to take the action and enough courage to deal with whatever comes afterward. You stop trying to engineer a life where nothing can go wrong and start building the ability to recover when something does.
And this applies to learning too. Instead of watching a one-hour tutorial before you even touch something, learn the minimum you need and start. Read for five or ten minutes, understand the basics, and then fuck it — we ball. You'll learn more by actually doing it, fucking it up, correcting yourself, and doing it again than you will by endlessly preparing.
People waste so much time trying to eliminate risk before taking action. But sometimes the "risk" they're protecting themselves from is literally just embarrassment.
Bro, embarrass yourself.
Do cringe-maxing. Post the thing. Build the thing. Talk to the person. Try the idea. Be the beginner. Let somebody think you're crazy. Let somebody think you're stupid. Their opinion is not the objective.
The objective is getting where you want to go.
And if reaching that goal requires looking stupid 20 times along the way, then look stupid 20 times.
Think about a baby learning to walk. It falls over and over again. It doesn't fall once, notice somebody laughing, and think, Damn, walking might not be for me. It gets back up. Again and again until eventually it can walk.
That's the mentality.
Not recklessness. Not pretending consequences don't exist. Action over unnecessary fear. Courage over embarrassment. Confidence that whatever happens, you'll deal with it.
Fuck it. We ball.
